FAQ

What are these replicas made of?
They’re cast from platinum-cure silicone, which is the same high-quality material used in professional effects work. It’s durable, flexible, and skin-safe.

Is it safe?
The silicone I use is skin-safe, so handling it, pressing it, and working with it is totally fine. However, it’s not food-grade, so while it may look tempting to some of you curious souls, it’s not meant to go in your mouth. Think “safe to touch,” not “safe to taste.”

Can I use them for piercing displays or training?
Of course! They’re designed to handle marking, placement, and jewelry display. While they might not offer the same resistance against the needle that a real navel would, these are still must-have tools for shops and studio setups.

Do the replicas come in different skin tones?
Each model is available in three colors (light, medium, and dark skin tones) in both Base Color and Enhanced Color options. Base is a clean, solid color; Enhanced adds variations in the tones, mimicking real skin. Every replica made with the Enhanced Color option is truly one-of-a-kind!

Can I request a custom color?
Depending on the project, yes. Custom tones usually require extra time and materials. Message me with what you’re aiming for and I’ll let you know what’s realistic.

Are these handmade?
Every piece is individually poured and checked by me. Because they’re handmade, small variations are to be expected.

How durable are they?
Silicone is tough and flexible, and these hold up well to regular handling. That said, they’re not indestructible. Besides a piercing needle, avoid anything sharp. Don’t dig at them firmly with long fingernails, and keep tools or pointed objects away from the silicone. Treat them like you would any high-quality prop and they’ll last a long time. Most tears can also be repaired! Reach out to me at obytefilms@gmail.com if you have any repair related questions!

How do I clean them?
Use mild soap and water. No harsh chemicals or alcohol. Let them air-dry fully before storing.

Why does it feel a little tacky?
Softer silicone naturally has a bit of tackiness. I chose a specific softness that feels realistic and still holds its shape well, and with that level of softness comes a small amount of tack. It’s totally normal. If you want it to feel more matte or silky, you can lightly dust it with cornstarch or unscented baby powder and it’ll smooth out right away.

How long does shipping take?
Every piece is made to order, and I handle the entire process myself from start to finish. Since this isn’t my full-time job and I balance it with a busy schedule, it typically takes about 3–4 weeks for me to make your replica before it ships. Every once in a while we run into shipping delays of materials we've ordered to make more replicas, and in those instances we do our best to reach out and keep you in the loop.

Do you accept returns?
Because of the nature of the products, returns aren’t accepted unless something arrives damaged. If that happens, contact me right away and I’ll take care of it.
